What is Vendor Management?

Organizations use Vendor Management processes to oversee their suppliers, (vendors). This involves tasks like vendor selection (RFI, RFP), contract negotiation, cost control, risk mitigation (3rd & 4th Party Risk Management), and ensuring service delivery (SLA, KPIs, Benefits Realization).

Vendor Management

Sr Program Manager (Chicago, IL) 2010-2012

Managed a large program utilizing 49 vendors. Following RFPs, shortlisting, and a rigorous selection, Each vendor had separate objectives (SOW), agreements, and terms. The goal was to keep the program within the budget, fence the risks related to the external suppliers and make sure the cadence of delivery is inline with the program milestones and plan.
I tasked a PMO to govern the activities and we successfully avoided budget and schedule pitfalls throughout the 3 years program.
